Common Questions from New H-2A Employers: When do I need to secure housing for workers?

I don’t currently have housing: when do I need to have that finalized?

Answer: Since your housing will need to be inspected by the state and approved, we must furnish the housing locations at the time of filing (as early as 75 days from the date you need workers to arrive). In practice, this means the housing locations must be disclosed on the front end, and their accompanying inspections and approvals submitted to DOL no later than 32 days prior to your start date.

It is an upfront investment, but given the reliability and productivity of the H-2A workforce, we believe it will be worth it.

This blog series answers the most common questions we get from first-time H-2A users. másLabor prides itself on not just filing and worker coordination services, but educating businesses entering into H-2A for the first time on how to be successful and compliant users.
